ICT is an acronym for Information and Communication Technology. It refers to the infrastructure and all components that all together; enable the production, storing, duplication, processing, transmission, converting, and reception of electronic or digital information. This means that ICT includes the application of information technology and telecommunication; which includes the use of computer hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment for transmission and presentation of information.
The term is used to generally mean all devices, networking components, applications and systems that all combined; allow people to interact in the digital world.
ICT includes computers with all their hardware and software components. Motherboard, Central Processing Unit, videotapes, CDs, DVDs, flash disks, hard disks, printers, projectors are examples of computer hardware. Software equipment includes different operating systems and innumerable applications or programs.
Information communication technology also includes telephones, radios, televisions, photocopiers, fax machines, calculators, electronic books, World Wide Web (internet), email, chat, video conferencing, robots, billing machines, and satellites.
