a. We use “going to” to express something which is going to happen in the near future.
Examples:
I am going to participate in a competition.
Where are you going to go?
They aren’t going to enjoy the party.
b. We can also use “going to” to talk about something that is certain to happen in the future. It is the future tense.
Examples:
In July, we are going to visit National Park of Volcanoes.
The following Saturday, we are going to celebrate at Nyamirambo Stadium.
In the next year, he isn’t going to accommodate you.
